Did you know......?

Did you know that Rita paints in her free time? And did you know that Aldora sings? The theme for this week is secret talents. Have you got any secret talents you'd like to share with us? I play (or used to play, as I haven't played for ages) the violin. I'm very rusty now though, so I'm not sure if you'd call it a talent.

Time for you to blow your own trumpet!

Have a good week

Paul

Hi everyone :)
My secret talent may be my capability of imitating life. We are creators, therefore “life can imitate art far more than art imitates life” said oscar wilde.
Art is a way of personal expression and life can be seen as consecutive actions which will create a full range of experiences.
About my secret talent I must say that when it emerges I gain the capability of make everyone happy around me, including myself.
It is a good instrument to use comedy along with irony to interpret this world, full of imperfections.
Anyway, it is a way of expression like any other type of home made art.
I wonder what the rest of the people think about art. In my opinion there are bizarre ways of art like, for instance, someone on the stage playing sounds loudly like a bell over and over again without any purpose noticed by the audience and which has the capability of making everyone leave after had paid 15 € to watch crap.
Let’s just go to Serralves and deliver them some ridiculous project well presented in paper and see if they make the same mistake again.

See you next week,

Joana Silva

Hi everyone,

Well, It's not completely true what Paul said about my “secret talent”. In fact, I’m learning to draw pictures. But, in fact, my goal is to paint.
I always had this dream, because, I think if you paint something you get more involved with it. It rests forever in your mind and in you soul, more than a photograph.
So, as I go several abroad and I see magnificent things, I want to keep them in a painting.
But, so far, is not very easy because I can’t draw and draw is the first step to paint. It takes a lot of time, practice and patience to get there, but I hope that, with lots of perseverance, I can reach it!
See you all on Monday

Well, I am not a very gifted person with regard to art. I love music, but I do not play any instrument and I only sing in the shower, which says a lot about my vocal performance quality. Painting and acting are not also amongst my secret talents. However there is one thing that I know how to do very well: biscuits, muffins and cookies. All of them are well-known among my friends and my family.

I really like to cook, especially cookies, biscuits and muffins. Whenever I can, I go to the kitchen to try new recipes and new ingredients. The kitchen is my personal laboratory, where I do same experiences to find out new and different flavours and mixtures. Sometimes I even create a new recipe that end up being successful. For me is all about imagination as well as perseverance.

For most people, cooking is not a kind of art, but I like to believe that it can be, at least, a talent. Whenever I cook something and the others like it, I feel happy because I think that those who like my food also like me.

See you tomorrow.

Hi!

My secret talent is to speak English :)))
Just kidding...

I'm very sorry but I don't have any secret talent... I love listening to the music, watching art performances, eating cookies and biscuits, watching sports like football and tennis, but I not a talent in any one of these.

If I could choose a talent it would be a sport one. Perhaps playing very well tennis or golf because I could play it until got old.

See you tomorrow.

Our class is full of talents! Beginning by the Jorge’s talent for the kitchen!! :)

The same I can’t say about me, now that of the sudden (nor thinking seriously in this subject!) don’t occur me none my talent in memory!

In chid, my parents still tried that I would go for the philharmonic band of “Bombeiros Voluntários de Mogadouro”, however, frustrated attempt… in the end of 3 lessons at once I had desisted. The music doesn’t run in my veins! Just today I have a brother that plays bagpipes and little guitar and a boyfriend that plays piano and concertina, nor thus the ability to the music call me… I only really play hand-bell and the bell of my father’s village!!

As to sing… So long years ago too, I belonged to “Grupo Coral de Mogadouro”. Sing I didn’t sing nothing, I did playback! But that endured little more than a year because it finished…

To draw or to paint I had never tried but isn’t it a art that call me, too

To like, to like really is to dance! And in the bottom I believe that I would be able for this, but the opportunity for explore this possible-stash talent, don’t emerge yet! Maybe a day in some years I inscribe me in some association with dace hall! Who knows! :)

See you tomorrow,
JMendes

Hi everyone!

To be perfectly honest, I don’t have any special talents. I would like to have one, but I don’t. I consider myself a kind of person that prefers to try many things and it is never prepared to stop in any.
When I was a little boy, my parents bought me a piano… They thought that I had some special music talent inside me… how they were so wrong about it… I think I played a dozen times that instrument.
A couple years ago, I tried to learn guitar by myself… but I failed… Nowadays, I only know how to play a few songs, and nothing more…
Two weeks ago, I tried to paint something. Well, I must say that I did not finish my first painting yet… but it is close to being done, and I am enjoying to do it.
At this point, I think I will pass my cooking adventures… :)

See you on Monday,
Luís

Hi everyone

I have been thinking in that question since I read the blog, I think It was on Thursday but I don't have any secret talent...

Sometimes people didn't have talent but learn and do incredible things, but sometimes people really have a special talent for playing an instrument, writing a poetry, painting amazing pictures, photography beautiful landscapes... but though they have a brilliant talent they can learn some technical rules.

I think that more important than things you learn is your gift to do something! Of course we can learn everything but how can we explain some works of talented people? Sometimes people didn't have training to do that, or to do that this way, we know that are people that learn faster than other but I think isn't the only answer for that.

Have a nice day!
See you later

Paul,
It’s not a secret talent!!!
As I told you before I'm always doing something.
Last year I started to play the guitar and this year I started to raise my voice, and I realised that I didn't sing – I just emitted some sounds!
I wish I would started this 10 years ago, when I was younger and I had more free time... but some things should be done when we are more mature! :-)

See you at 19h
Aldora

Hi people,

I think that the only talent that I have is to do grammatical English mistakes that nobody does, as Paul said to me some days ago. :-S

So, I can’t identify a secret talent. Sometimes I like to draw as a way to express some feelings that I have difficult to express with words. I like to write and take photos, too. I would like to play classic guitar but I don’t have a secret talent. I think that sing, music and draw are natural human expressions and all of us can practise them. For example, when I draw for some period of time I had more attention in details and it has reflexion in my job.

Have a nice week.

See you.
