Museums

Sorry everyone. I'm a bit late this time as I couldn't seem to log on during the week. Anyway, how often do you visit museums in Porto? What's your favourite one? When you go on abroad or to other parts of Portugal do you visit any museums?

Have a good weekend everyone

I love visiting museums but, unfortunately, I do not visit them as often as I would and should do it in Porto. Why? Well, most of the time I just forget that a museum is a wonderful place where you may spent your free time. It never seems to be my first option…I know I should feel ashamed of myself. After all, whenever I visit a museum I end up enjoying it a lot.

Despite all, when I go on abroad or to other parts of Portugal I do my best to visit some museums. It is my way of trying to understand and learn a bit more about the place and culture where I am. Museums are like classrooms – only they are more interesting then the real ones – where everyone can always learn something more about a subject in an easy and simple way.

The last museum that I have visited was Museu de Lamego. It has an amazing collection of religious art pieces, such as fabulous tapestries, wood and clay ancient images of Portuguese saints and also some paintings that show moments of Jesus’ life.

Portugal has a lot of wonderful museums however the majority of Portuguese are not very enthusiastic about them. The beach, the cinema or even the shopping mall seem to be more interesting places to go. Maybe this will change in the future as nowadays children are being more encouraged to visit museums.

See you tomorrow.

Hi everyone

I have to confess that I don’t visit very often Museums in Portugal and I don’t know why. It sounds strange but I think that it happens because I know that if I want to go I can do it, because they are really close.

When I go abroad I usually try to visit the most important Museums of the city. I used to visit few Museums in a week but I prefer walking in the streets and feel the local culture.

I’m not sure but I think that I visit 6 Museums in a half of a year. Furthermore, when I go to a Museum in Porto I usually go to “Serralves” Museum.

Well, time to go…see you tomorrow

Hi ,
It’s a shame but I must confess that I never visit museums in Portugal. Yes, it’s true! I used to visit museums in school travels when I was a little girls, but that was in Lisbon. I visited Jerónimos Museum, Traje Museum and Coches Museum.

Nowadays I don’t visit them anymore. Why? Because it seems that I forgot how many beautiful things we have in our country.
When I go abroad, specially to Europe, I always visit the local museums, for instance, when I went to Budapest I visited a lot of museums because there are many there.

Visiting museums is always a very relaxing program and take us to other centuries. I like that feeling a lot. Maybe I must oblige me to make some “museum tours” in Porto too!!

See you on Monday!

Hi everyone!

To be perfectly honest, I do not visit museums often. I only count one, maybe two times during a year. Normally, the museums are lovely spaces to spend some of our free time and to relax a little bit but I must confess that I prefer myself to go to the cinema or going for a walk.

I would say that “Serralves” is my favourite museum. Besides the main galleries, this museum has the particularity to have wonderful green and well cared spaces, which gives us the opportunity to contact nature and to inspire lots of fresh air.

When I go abroad or to other parts of Portugal I am always interested in visiting all the local touristic spots like museums (if they exist), monuments and ruins.

See you on Monday!

I like to visit some king of Museums. My favorite ones are modern art museums which I'd already visit Museu de Serralves, Colecção Berardo, Guggenheim (NY and Bilbao), MoMa (NY) and Tate (London).

Beside modern art museums I also look for historical and world reputation ones. The first ones to know better some historical episodes and the second ones because it is always an oportunity to see world reputation exhibitions.

In Porto I only use to visit Serralves in a regular way. In fact I think it is the only museum in town which I'd visit more than once.

Hi everyone

I visit museums, no often I would like but some times, recently I visited an exhibition in museu da fotografia in cordoaria – Porto.

When I go abroad I always try to visit museums or exhibitions, of course I didn't like all I have visited but it's always interesting experiences.

I think we have wonderful places where people can do interesting exhibitions but usually people aren't involve in that kind of things, people prefer other kinds of leisure.

Have a nice day
