Easter time...

Easter is the most important religious feast in the Christian liturgical year. In Christian belief, Jesus was resurrected from the dead three days] after his crucifixion. Many Christian denominations celebrate this resurrection on Easter Day or Easter Sunday (also Resurrection Day or Resurrection Sunday), two days after Good Friday. The chronology of his death and resurrection is variously interpreted to be between the years 26 and 36 A.D. (in Wikipedia).

But Easter time is more than this! It’s time to have family and friends at home, and of course my God Son! And it’s time to eat chocolate, cinnamon, liquor, sugared and caramelized almonds … chocolate eggs shouldn’t be forgotten!

What about you? Do you usually eat sweets?

Like everyone else that I know, I am a huge fan of sweets and eat them is one of my favourite hobbies. Milk and white chocolates are the ones I most appreciate. However I am not addicted to sweets and I am quite capable of living without them.

Well…to be perfectly honest there is one thing that I can not let go: ice creams. I am just crazy about them and I eat them all the time. It does not matter if it is winter, autumn, spring or summer time, either if it is cold or hot; I eat an ice-cream every week. It is my special moment!

Coconut, vanilla and chocolate are my favourite flavours, but I am always trying new flavours’ mixtures and I enjoy it a lot. Whenever I travel I do my best to visit the local and traditional ice cream shops and to taste their ice creams. It is my personal and own way of learning new things about the places that I visited….I can not resist them.

When it comes too sweets I must say that chocolates are my favourite, but other types of sweets like gums or the ones that are sold in a bakery shop don’t attract me at all!

When it comes to milk and dark chocolate tablets I’m a big fan. However, a chocolate cake is always my first option.
Chocolate is used to consume or to Spa treatments purposes, etc. I always try to be careful with the amount I eat even though I know that I’m a bit addicted to it!

In conclusion, sweets are needed to feed our soul and to feed our body, which is not needed but they do it anyway. There are different types of sweets to diverse tastes and everyone should enjoy their favourites without exaggerating.

I hope everyone enjoy Easter feast with relatives, friends and with sweets, of course!

I must say I haven't really got a sweet tooth but I never usually say no to chocolate :) . And the higher the percentage of cocoa the better. A friend of mine in Manchester has just done a chocolate cooking course and she's been sending me recipes to have a go at. I've got a bar of cooking chocolate in my fridge ready for the first recipe. Jamie Oliver, eat your heart out ;)

As for Easter, I must admit that I'm not particularly that religious but the traditions on different countries can be quite interesting.

Have a good Easter everyone, whatever you may be doing.

Hugs

I hope that everyone have had a good Easter!!

My perdition is chocolates and sweets! If I have one, I can’t stop to eat. My lucky is that I only eat if I have, so I get resist to buy or to do… It’s my salvation!

In this time of Easter, in my region is custom to eat almonds, but mainly to eat the traditional “folar”. It isn’t a sweet but yes a salty “cake” made with eggs, olive oil and stuffed with smoked ham, bacon and smoked pork sausage. One pleasure mainly on breakfast or on afternoon tea accompany by tea. This year, my mother tries to change the salty stuffing by quince jam… fantastic invention!!

Now… I time of hard diet!

Hi everyone,

Sorry for the delay in answer to the blog.
I must confess I’m a sweet addicted! And chocolate is my favourite sweet!
I always have to control myself to don’t heat too many candies, because of my health and shape, but it’s very difficult.
So, this Easter I ate some few chocolate almonds (ok, not a few, a little bit more!) and, as I went abroad, I had no opportunity to eat nothing else. I also love to eat kid (cabrito) that is very traditional in Easter time, but that I eat all year long.

See you all next 20th

Hi everyone.
For professional reasons I went to Seville on the Holly Week. It is quite impressive the way people live the Easter time and the importance of the processions of each fraternity.
Beside the thousand of people who made part of the procession, arround 3 thousand in each fraternity, there are much more who take part as audience. But the surprise, for me, was the way people participate in it - restaurants and tapas bar arround the city center are completly full of people that take a "tapa" and a beer or glass of wine while assisting the religious moment. This gives the cerimonies an incredible and unexpected cheerfull ambience.

About candies... I prefer chocolate egs or almonds.

Hello,

For me East isn't an interesting celebration, I only like because we have holiday and it's another reason to stay with my family.

I prefer chocolates to sweets but I also like sweets with almond inside and chocolate out :)

Have a nice day.
