keeping fit

Hello everyone,

Sorry for the delay in posting this one :) . For the final one of the year could you tell us all what you do, if anything, to keep fit. Myself, I'm not a particularly sporty person but I do walk everywhere. I walk to work, to visit friends and occasionally to the beach on the Gaia side and I think that makes up for the fact that I don't do any sports. Anyway, what about you?

See you on Monday

Paul

Hi!
I'm not a sporty person but I try to do something to keep fit. I like walk but sometimes it's difficult, because where I live and where I work I don't have a real space to walk, only in streets with lots of cars and pollution.
At this moment I go to the gymnasium 3 days for week, I do some classes as cycle, body pump, body balance, body jump... I feel well when I do some sport, isn't only in my body but mainly in my mind.
Actually I think people have a big concern with fit, not only because weigh but to has a healthy life.

Have a nice weekend.
See you on Monday.

I’m a sport’s fan! However, in this time I don’t have time to practise none… Until April of this year, I frequented a gymnasium, but I quitted its, first because my lung problem and after (since September) because I don’t have really free time…

Nevertheless, if I don’t do any physic effort, my humour and my physical condition give me some signs. So, like I don’t have time (in this moment) to go to the gym, I try do some physical exercise in my daily activities like run to the bus :) , to go up and downstairs (don’t use the lift!) and walking (e.g. to go down in stop bus earlier than the usual).

I think that the physical exercise is the best medicament for all diseases (mainly cardiovascular), still more if it is accompanying by one healthy eating and without tobacco!

Good weekend!

Well, like Paul, I walk everywhere I can. For example, I always walk back home from work – unless it is raining and so I must take the Oporto Metro. To be perfectly honest, I walk not because I want to keep fit but because I love doing it. Walking allows me to relax and I enjoy it.

The luck of time is the main reason why I do not do sports or go to an health club. I love both but for now it is impossible for me to do any of them. However I have found out some ways to keep fit on my own. How? Besides walking, I always choose the stairs instead of the lift or the escalator. Once you start doing it, you will keep on without even thinking about it.

To have a balanced diet is another of my “secrets” to keep fit. In spite of being found of sweets and ice-creams, I try to pay attention to what and how I eat.

Most people think that to keep fit is all about beauty, but they are wrong, because it is mostly a matter of being healthy. I believe that everyone should be aware of it.

See you tomorrow.

Fit, exercise, diet… I’m getting sought!!! To tell the truth I prefer the Food Posts!!!
I am a sportive girl since I know myself. I started Karate with 4 years, I played handball in the Primary School and I played volleyball until the end of the Secondary School. At the University time I went to the self-defense training for almost 2 years. After that I stopped everything until I get overweight!!! WHY??!?!?!?!?!
Before I get married I walked 2 hours a day and I lost 7 kilos in 6 months.
In February 2007 I went to a Nutritionist and I started a very hard program. I had to stop eating everything I want and I had to walk 1 hour a day. To tell the truth, I didn’t get it straight because I love to eat almost everything - it’s so difficult. I go for a 1 hour-walk every time I can but it’s not enough. So I’m going to gym 3 or 4 times a week and I do aerobic and self-defense training.
My goal to February 2009 is loose 4 kilos with a lot of exercise and “closed mouth”!!!

See you tomorrow.

Hello people,

I like to practice sports. I’ve never a professional but I have practice different types of sports. During my teen I practiced Judo during 2 years, and, until the end of Secondary School, I played volleyball.

More than a specific sport, I always like to play football (well, actually I am a bad football player, but in Brasil it was quite impossible not play football with friends :-) ) and ride a bicycle.

Swimming is another sport that I like very much and five year ago I started to practice swimming at the Municipal Swimming Pool of the Porto city, near my job. During the first 2 years I had class in the mornings, before the job. After 2 years I stop the class but I have been gone to the swimming pool during the week.

Another sport that I like very much is rowing. I started to practice it one year ago at Fluvial Sport Club. I don’t practice for competitions, as I would like, because I don’t have enough time and I started to practice rowing very late, but I like it very much. It is a very technical sport that I’ve never thought. When I row in the Douro River I forget anything and the sensation by row in the river is fabulous.

See you tomorrow.

António.

Hello!
I love sports! I practice sport to get fun rather to keep fit. But of course sport and healthy are hand together.

Nowadays I play football once a week with some friends and I also do running once or twice a week (depending on my free-time available but also on weather conditions).
I love to do treking but I don´t do it as often as I would like to.

I usually participate in some non-professional run courses in Oporto like "Corridas das Festas da Cidade", "Corrida do dia do Pai", "São Silvestre" or "Meia-Maratona".
That's a good challenge and it's also important to put some presure on my trainning.
I had already finished two half marathons and I would like to try to run a marathon at least once in my life.

Bye.AGA
