Seasons greetings everyone,
Your task over the holidays is to tell everyone what you're up to/what you've done/what you'll be doing. I'm staying in Porto for a week and then off to visit a friend in Norway, where I'll be for New Year. I'm not sure how cold it's going to be but it's sure to be a lot colder than here. Still, the houses have heating so I may not notice it :)

Unfortunately I have missed the last class and i m very sad about it. With all the exams I had to do and with classes substitution, it was completely impossible for me to go.
I wish you all a Very Good Christmas and a Happy New Year.
About current vacations, I will continue to study hard in the mean time of Christmas and New Years day, but I love what I do, so I don’t need to do a big effort.
I will spend Christmas with my family and in New Years I will go to Santiago de Compostela, Spain with some friends.

I spent my Christmas time with my family... One day with my uncles and the other one with my brother :)
It was a great time...
For the new year... I'm not sure about it, but my friends invited me to go to London (but it's quite impossible for me to go there), Barcelos and Vila do Conde.
Probably I will choose Vila do Conde because we are on 30th of December and I don't have much time to prepare everything :)

Well, I always spent Christmas at home and I enjoy it a lot. After all Christmas time is all about family and traditions, witch I love. At least for me it is.
On Christmas Eve my closest family came together at my parents’ home for the traditional dinner. Everyone helped by doing something. For example, my mother and my aunt cooked the cod, while my cousin and I were responsible for the Christmas desserts – only the Portuguese ones were allowed. Around midnight we opened the presents. As always it was the most expected moment of the night, especially for my two youngest cousins that are 8 and 4 years old. On Christmas Day everyone came back for Christmas lunch.
Once again my parents’ home was the chosen place to say good bye 2008, hello 2009. The family (grandmother, uncle, aunt and cousins) gathered for the last dinner on 2008.
I do like the holidays and so I love spent them with the persons I love and where I feel happy – at home.

Holidays?! Only in English lesson…
About my Christmas… Each year is different: some years in Mogadouro, another in Porto; some years in my house, another in my godmother’ home. This year like I work in Friday after Christmas, my parents and my brother come to Porto and 24th dinner we went to my godmother’ house; the Christmas lunch went in my flat with my parents, my brother, my boyfriend, cousins, 2 aunts and 2 uncles: 15 persons in total.
We cooked all type of typical food of this time!! A big belly aches the day after!!
I think that here (Porto) it’s not tradition, but in Trás-os-Montes we eat too boiled octopus.
Like Claudia, we wait for the midnight to change the gifts.
In New Year, I went to Mogadouro. However, it was a different of all the other years. I used to pass the midnight with my parents and after go out with my friends for bar or a particular party. This Year, I’m very tired and with a lot of things for to do, so, I prefered stay all night in home, around the fireplace and to rest a little.
I wish all of you the best for this New Year! A lot of smiles, kisses, embraces, conquests, victories, friends, money and health!

Unfortunately these days are very busy to me. It's high season! No, I'm not a Port Win or Champagne seller... but I'm responsible to prepare the anual accounts report of the company I work to send to the mother company in Spain.
That means that every days are essencial to reach the goal! And tomorrow (January, 5th) it's the deadline!
By the way, I spent Christmas in S. João da Madeira and Oporto and I enter on 2009 in Oporto at friends place!

I spent my Christmas with my mother, sister and some relatives as aunt, uncle and cousins, it’s interesting, we spent lots of time speaking and eating good food.
I have some holidays but I’m always at home or family’s house.
In 31st from 1st I stayed to 1 o’clock at home and after that I went to Porto to have some fun with some friends.

I spent my Christmas holidays at my parents’ home, after all it was time to join the family and spend some time with those I love most. In that house we were 12 people and everyone had a specific task to do… ok… I don’t lie :)… most of them were only designated to eat and were waiting to take a bite in the fabulous desserts that my grandfather prepared. Well, I must pass this subject ahead before I start to feel hungry…
Then I returned to Porto to say goodbye to 2008. This time I entered in New Year at my place.

Hi, everyone!
I was on holidays again! As I bought all my Christmas presents in the beginning of December all my time was dedicated to my family and friends.
Unfortunately my father didn’t come for Christmas this year so we were 5: me, my husband, my mother, my mother-in-law and my brother-in-law.
The Christmas dinner was like the others with cod, potatoes, carrots and cabbage boiled for some people and octopus boiled for others. For dessert we had bolo-rei, pão-de-ló, aletria, rabanadas, frutos secos (nuts, almonds, pine-seeds, figs, ...), mountain cheese, ...
After dinner the most important: PRESENTS!
The day after was a very calm day, we talked about 2008.
Then we went to Avelar, a small village near Coimbra, to rest a few more days. After that we went to Serra da Estrela. We had the chance to play with snow.
At the New Year’s Eve we had some family and friends at home for a very familiar night. The Dinner was similar to Christmas but we had Champagne and dry-grapes for each-one.
Now, I return to my job and to the English blog.
