Summer

You wouldn't know it, with all the rainy weather we've been having over the past week, but summer is approaching! What are your plans for the summer?

I was planning on going to Thailand for the summer but I can't seem to find a reasonable flight anywhere. The price seems to be almost double what it was a few years ago. I suppose that's the price of oil. Another option would be to buy an Interrail ticket (adult version) and go exploring Spain and France and England visiting friends. But if that works out too expensive I shall stay here in Porto. That's really not a bad option.

My plans for the summer...

I'm looking forward to going in holidays!!!

This summer I'm going to Barcelona - 5 days, to Istanbul - 6 days and to Berlin (and somewhere about) - 8 days. I bought the flights a few months ago, so I got it a low price!
In the other spare time I'll stay here in Porto, yes, it's a good option:-)

I used to go abroad but now I’m slight limited among the available holidays destinations, because I have to think in first place in my daughters needs and wishes, that they are very different of the adult ones, so these year and the next ones, while my daughters are young, my summer holidays would be spent inside Portuguese territory, this year I’m going to the Algarve, near Lagos City to enjoy the sun and the beach during some days and the rest of the holiday are going to be spent in Lavra enjoying the local sun and beach and read some book that I didn’t have time to read during last year.
My dream holiday is being prepared for the time that my daughters be older and more independent, In about five years, I hope that I and my wife will be enjoying a wonderful cruise across the Mediterranean sea, and knowing a lot of islands and coastal cities of France, Italy, Croatia, Turkey, Greece etc, but till there I have to live with the limitation of the available destination that are suitable for all the family.
Best Regards

Plans to this Summer?!?

Well.. This holidays’ year will go have some limitations!!
The previous years, I used to distribute my holidays like this: some days to go out with my parents and brother, some days to travel with my boyfriend and some days to stay in Mogadouro, to cheer oneself by the sight of my village and my friends one longs for.
However, these holidays can be different! First, I don’t mark my holidays yet! My parents spent all their holidays last month for to do repairs in home. Second, my boy friend changed of place work, so until October he can’t have holidays.
Third, because my lung’s problem I don’t know if I can travel by plane next months! I will only know after doing a “TAC” in July. This year, I wish I went to Barcelona or London, if I can’t in summer, maybe after October, but it depends to my lung!! Fourth and at last, this Monday I’m going to start a part-time (after my full-time job), so it will be more difficult to conciliate the holidays in two work places…
In conclusion, my summer holidays were an incognita!!

Have a nice weekend! Maybe I can’t go Monday to class…

Hi everyone,
I think I can't talk about holidays ;-) because I had mine already!
As I have holidays on the Winter season, on the summer I use to stay in Porto and go to Aguçadoura beach (in Póvoa de Varzim) every weekend, if it's sunny and hot. It's my favorite beach on the north. Jorge surfs and I have lots of sun bath!
And summer is also very good to work: It's more calm, because almost everyone go on holiday and we can do everything we don't have time all along the year. I understand that the great part of the people have to go on holiday on summer, because of the children and for other reasons. But I hate to go on holiday on summer. Everyone seems to be crazy! Lots of people, lots of traffic, the prices increase and there are less availability in hotels. I really prefer to go on winter! (because I go to hot places!!).
Paul, if you stay in Porto, why don't you join a group and go visit Douro Region? It's a very beautiful travel. You go by boat, all along Douro River and return by train. Think about it!
See you next Monday.

This summer is one summer special, because has a baby and all is different.
My Company obliges all staff to doing one period of holidays in August. I don´t like holidays in August but I must do a fortnight. My husband doesn´t like too and doesn’t have holidays on summer.
I will became with David and we´re going to the beach in Esmoriz (close Espinho) maybe one week and another we´re going to Celorico Basto ( where lives my parents).
In October, I´ll have another fortnight to doing holidays with my husband. He goes to convince me to go abroad but without David. I don´t know, I will die of longing… I promise him to think about.

I don’t know where I’m going on holidays outside Portugal.
As my husband has his own business it’s always difficult to plan holidays. For the last 8 years we only travel for 3 or 4 days (exception - honeymoon!!!).
I’d like to go to Cabo Verde for resting and resting all day…
If we stay here, we will visit some regions like Trás-os-Montes and Alentejo, but only at weekend.
During the week, I will go to the beach, had some sun bath, read some books (lately I didn’t read too much) and of course relax.
Maybe you are thinking about why am I saying rest and relax so many times… You know, I’m so tired that I wish I was on holidays right now!

I‘m going to Spain and France between 17th and 24th
Me, my sister and two friends have decided to travel by car because we can visit more places. We want to come to a music festival in France, in a medieval village called Clisson, near Nantes. The festival will be between 20th and 23rd and the other days we will visit some places in Spain and France.
After that I hope going to Grandola in the last weekend of this month.
In July I’m preparing to go to the first time to Algarve, only a few days.
Besides that I hope visit some medieval fair, Porto’s ribeira, and other near places.
I like winter and autumn but this year I think it’s time to sun appear and hot days.
See you later.

Yes, Rita. My mother and her friend are visitng next month and I was thinking of a trip down the Douro. I don't like going in groups, though. Do you know if it's possible to do it independently?
