I don't think I'm a very superstitious person but my grandmother was. When I was a boy I remember I could never open an umbrella in her house as she thought it would bring bad luck. She also used to tell me I had to say 'white rabbit' when I woke up on the first day of every month - I often did looking back. She used to rub her money plant (a plant common in England) before she went to play Bingo as she believed this would bring her good luck. There's a long list of things she used to do........

I’m not superstitious but I know people that are very superstitious, for instance my mother is one of those person who believe that some of our behavior has positive and negative consequences, I remember her advices when I passed under a table or between someone’s legs as she thought it would stop my growth, she also used to tell me that if a black cat passed under one stair it was bad lucky signal, and for me the funniest of all was that the thunderstorm was a signal that god was angry as a result of someone misbehavior, but I think that she used to telling me that just to frighten me and by this way persuade me to do what she wanted.
Luck is a result of probabilistic events, we can’t say that one person is luckier than other person, when some event is repeated very times the result tends to a well known value that we can obtain by probabilities and statistics calculations.
To conclude, I don’t believe in luck nor in superstition, things happen because and there is always some physical and scientific explanation.

I've tried not being a superstitious person but it's a hard fight in my life. My father is very superstitious and when we were children we believed that somethings could bring bad luck to our lives. When I grew up and I began to think more consciously I stopped to believe in that kind of things. However I still have some remains of superstition in my mind.
For my father the worst thing that can happen is to break a bottle of olive oil!!
I believe I'm a lucky person! I always stumble on wonderful people. I've always got these feelings...I don't know why but they never trick me...

I have grown surround of people that were very superstitious, namely my grandmothers. To kill a black cat, to burn hair in fireplace, to sing when we are eating, to pass under stairs, to break a looking-glass and so one; was meaning of bad luck.
Nevertheless, I’m not become a superstitious person. I’m like Paulo, I believe that everything have a physical and scientific explanation! However, I think that there are persons with more luck than other, they have more feeling for following the correct chose or do/say the correct thing in correct time and in the correct place!!
I´m not superstitious but sometimes I find me making the sign of the cross when I´m doing a long trip or to strike on wood when someone tell anything bad about me. I think our culture have a strong influence of superstitions. When you can´t explain anything you need to believe in luck or in God. If you didn´t believe in nothing you would a strong candidate of psychiatric disorder.
I believe in luck, but you make your luck. One friend of mine tell: “Luck is very good but gives a hard work”.

To be or not superstitious…
I usually eat 12 dry grapes in 31 December evening and drink a Champagne cup to bring me luck to the next year… I hate “dry grapes” but I want to start the New Year the best way possible!
When I bring friends to have dinner at home I only be careful with how many people I could invite, because I only have 13 chairs!
The first thing I thought when I spill olive oil? What a bad luck… I have to buy another bottle and they are so expensive!
Friday 13th? It could only be a great day… The next day is Saturday!
Good luck or bad luck it depends on your attitudes!
My friend usually says “I’m not superstitious because it brings bad luck!”

I`m not superstitious...and I can´t imagine myself living like superstitious people lives...always thinking in bad luck.."I´m not doing this because it give bad luck..I´m not doing that because could give me bad luck...I´m not..."well..you know what I mean.
Realy, it´s not for me!
But I respect the superstitions of the others...
I think that luck not depends of a special thing...JUST HAPPENDS.

I think I am a superstition person, but I am not continuous thinking in superstitions. When I was a boy, in Brasil, I hear a lot of things that I can qualify as superstition. Things like: “If you watch a lots of ants in your house, it may means that you will move to another place.” or, “go out from the gate where you into”. Well, there are many situations that I can qualify as superstition and sometimes I think how it is interesting to know how it starts.
