Do you like an easy life?

Hi everyone!

Would you like to have the security of an easy life, where everything is predictable and you do the same things day after day and week after week? Or do you like to do something different every now and again to add a bit of spice to your life? Perhaps you do a dangerous sport, or change your partner every now and again :) (only joking!). Would you find life boring if there was no danger anywhere?

As for myself, it's a bit of both. I have to confess that for the most part my life is routine. But saying that, I do like to visit new places every year, try new food and meet new people when the opportunity arises. I think one of the things I would like to change, sometimes, is to leave everyday chores until the last minute, or even do things late, to leave time to do other things, I don't know whether it's a fault, or a British quality, or both (!) but I always tend to be on time for things.

Anyway, what about you?

I don't like to live in routine, but my life is that essentially, a routine.
I think we need both, things we know that are always like that and differents ones.
I have never practised a dangerous sport, only tried escalation once but not in a real out door, was in out door but not in a montain, was in a wall prepared for such pratises.
I would like to try skydive, diving (but first I need to learn to swim :)).
I agre with Paul, It is important every year we know new places, new cultures, nem people, we learn a lot because of that and will awaken to know new places again.
Unfortunately I have never visited many countries but now I try to know at least a different one each year, the detail is that only begun last year with that annual intention :(
In my opinion there is very good news things constantly but there are some things that are good not change because when change we feel very badly.

Hi :)

Well, I must say that two years ago my life was full of new experiences and discovers due to the fact that I had took two dynamic courses and had a great hobby during four years.
There was something new almost every week, a new goal to achieve, problems to solve quickly, a new project to run, workshops on even rehearsals on weekends. Usually, a dynamic and intensive job takes control of you and your life, but as we all know, happiness can be found in anything and anywhere, we just need to make a choice.
In the last two years I have been trying to have a balanced life. I m focused on having a routine to get more discipline and quicker results, new experiences or visiting a place every now and then, watching a show or reading a book of an unknown subject.
Like every human being I carry in my genes the needing of improvement.
To finish, I wish you all an enjoyable life and a really nice weekend! :)

Dear all!

I have to admit that I like having some routine in my life. It’s easier and more comfortable for me when I know what expect from people and from situations. However, in nowadays, we live in a permanent risk, nothing in life is stable. Sometimes it’s good, having a new job, new colleagues and, why not, a new and fresh partner!!
In my childhood I was very, very adventurer, then I became more responsible but now, as I ager and ager, I prefer living different moments, not too much dangerous but with some adventure. In this way my life is more alive day by day. Knowing new people, new places, new ways of living brings to my life a bright colour!

Enjoy your life!

Hi!!

To be completely honest with you, I prefer the easy life, but I don’t know why I always take risks in all aspects of life. If it’s a problem or not, I really don’t know, I just can’t say NO to a challenge, therefore I really don’t get bored. In my day by day I always travelling between Portugal and Spain and sometimes other countries, so I meet a lot of knew people.
Dangerous sports!!! That’s one funny part of life, I’d love have done all of them, but unfortunately I hadn’t the opportunity to do it. I have made some different sports (not dangerous) like rappels, cannoning, zip lining, slide, trekking, Rugby and Taekwondo, I’ve made other sports but they are more standard.
About living things to the last moment, that is something that my father always sad (and says) not to do, but the truth is that I have a better performance when I’m under pressure in my job.

See you on Monday,

Hi!!!!
I can´t write every week because I don´t have much time, but this week I spend a bit.
About this issue, I must admit that I have some routines in my life, but I don´t like. It´s real the routine makes you feel safe, but the emotion doesn´t in programmed life. I need to do differents things to makes me feel happy, and I need too some stress. The calm life I will have when I'll have over 70 years. This time, I would have pains in my legs, in my back and in my head and so on.... and certainly I won't have desire for adventure.
David already "hit palms" (I don´t know it is right).

Well, I think almost everyone would like to live an easy life. But not always the easiest life is the best one. After all, everyone needs to surprise and to be surprised every now and then.

Like everybody else, I have everyday chores that I must do, either I like it or not, because they are important to my emotional and professional stability. If people only do what they want, whenever they want, chaos would rule not only our lives but also our society. So, to be predictable sometimes can be good for us.

However to try new things is also very important and it must not be forgotten. I do not do any dangerous sport and I am not thinking on doing it just to add some spice to my life. I believe that can do it in other ways and for me travelling is one of them. Whenever I visit another country I do my best to live new and different experiences. I love eating the local food and finding out new flavours and tastes. Of course I always visit the most popular places and monuments, but I also make an effort to find out something new and to learn more about the local culture.

Routine may not seem attractive, but the true is that we need it and so is up to us to avoid that it rules our lives. To have an open mind and not be afraid of taking risks, when they are worth, may be the solution.

Hi everyone,

This week subject is very interesting because it makes us think about what is our every day life.
I have both routine and adventure in my life.
Of course, the most part of my life is routine, because of work and assumed compromises that keep me doing every day the same thing. But I also like my routine. It’s comfortable and keep you with the adrenaline in a low level!! For instance, when I arrive home, I love to park my car and have “my” stray cat waiting for me, I love to arrive home and have my husband waiting for me, I love to seat on the sofa after a stressed day and watching television…

But I also like to escape from routine and, as I love to travel, I always look for different destinations and I usually go without a plan like “travel, hotel, excursion”… I hate that. I prefer to do things as they appear and live different situations.

I don’t do anything radical nor different from the usual but, two years ago, I did a diving course and since then I love to dive. Every time that is possible I dive and I feel the freedom of the immensity of the Ocean. It’s superb!! When we dive, we can feel really free! I also do Ski, but, as It must be practised on a snow place, it keeps difficult to do.

Resuming, I really would like to travel for two or three years all over the world, diving, surfing and meet different people and cultures and, when I thought it was enough, return home to my day by day routine!!

See you Monday in our “every Monday” class ;-)

I think all of us, for alive (and survive) need some routine, something (namely a constant job) that guarantees money and security for alive!
My daily is composed for a routine: my full job! But that only occupy 7 hours of my day. I know that arrive at home, set on sofa, to relax, watch TV, see a good film, read a good book, etc… are very good things but I don’t manage to have this “calm” life! For me, 15 days like this are enough! I need feel stress! In this moment I have two jobs, I’m in British Council, I give some lessons in my University and I’m doing master degree in Aveiro University. I don’t have free time, sometimes I take few sleep hours, I’m always tired, but I need that kind of life to feel me realizing.

I everyone!

Security in life is very important to me but I really need a challenge day-by-day!
Usually I set goals for some period of time and for different areas of my life: work, family, hobbies or holidays.

I also love to explore and try new experiences like food, music, countries or cultural events. I'm the kind of person who hate to be a entire day loked at home... I love city life and I would find difficult to live away from Oporto.

Talking about sports I can tell you that it's one of my favorite hobbies and something I can't live without. I prefer common sports as football or run but I have been doing snowboard for the last three years and I have experienced surf, scuba diving, hidrospeed and long walks.

Hi everyone!

To be completely honest, I have to admit that I prefer the easy life to a life full of risks. I am a person that likes to have some stability and comfort in life and above all that likes to know with what can count tomorrow. As so, I can say that I am a big friend of routine.

However, I have to confess that sometimes I like to break that same routine. Not as many times I would like to, that’s for sure, but from times to times, when I have the opportunity, I like to drive the car to uncertain and distant destinations, only with the main purpose to know other places.

Talking about dangerous or semi-dangerous sports… well, I have never done any dangerous or semi-dangerous sports and I think I will never do because they are not my kind of sports. At the moment, my favorite “dangerous” sport is to run after a ball and to give some kicks on it. :p

See you soon,
Luís

Hi people,

I agree with all of you that we often prefer easy life than risks. When I talk about easy life I talk about something like have a good job with stability and where we can earn enough money to do what we can. More than money, I think emotional stability is a target too, like good relationships with people at the job, with our family or with our community.
But, I believe that risk could be good. If we have a desire like to be a business person, or to expose new ideas in our job to improve it we have to assume risks. I think it is important that we have to try new ideas and new opportunities to do our lives better for us, even with risks.

See you soon,

António.

Hi everyone

I came back from London today and now I have to think about an “easy life”. It´s an irony…
These days were extraordinary because I could see the difference between Portuguese and British culture. In addition, London’s night is extremely exciting. Paul, you asked something curious, which I could check it out in London, about changing partner. It’s incredible the way and how fast which they do it.
Well, diversity, in London is a constant!

Anyway, an “easy life” reminds me facilities and I don’t like to have a life surround by routines. I was educated to look out stability but sometimes this means accommodation. Although nowadays stability seems to be really important, I’ve been searching challenges which make me feel more realized and happy. I’ve been learning that I’ve to live life as the last minute.
Usually, I never leave things until the last minute, so I cannot compare myself to a typical Portuguese.

About dangerous sports, I’ve never tried but I would like to try parachuting because of freedom and adrenalin sensations. I’m an adventurous person not in sports but in life.

Well, time to sleep a little bit because later I’ll have English class.

To conclude, don’t forget to put every days some creativity in your life.

See you later

Hi!

I prefer the security of an easy life to a dangerous or unpredictable life.
I love comfort instead of security of unknown.
I am very organized so when something change place or delayed I go crazy.
Of course sometimes my life is spicy but always with head over my shoulders…

I wouldn’t like to have a calm life or a risky life - the best is a mixture of both!
(In Portuguese: Nem 8 nem 80!!!).

I wish I could say that my life is a constant adventure, but in reality it is not ...
I'm a person who don't like to escape the routine ...
I'm not much given to adventures and I don't like instability.
But life itself is full of surprises, adventure, routines, etc ...
My day boils down to:
- Work (never know when he can finish, but always bearing in mind the end at 17pm)
- Go home to dinner (and sometimes, go into English)
- Drinking coffee with friends or simply stay home (sometimes to read, others to work, others simply to do nothing)
What change is over the weekend ... There is difficult to have 2 in same!
However, I do not complain that I have in life. I am happy!
